Book "The Friends of Poli the Octopus"

Each page of this book offers a week of homework, simple exercises for the child's initial steps at the piano to accompany the method adopted during the first period of study. The book therefore follows an educational path, even if captions and explanations have been deliberately avoided to make the page more pleasant for the little pupil.
 The first exercise on each page is about agility; sometimes it is of Hanonian inspiration, sometimes it focuses on learning scales and chords. Most of these exercises are written partially not only for reasons of space, but also to encourage the use of musical memory. The other exercises (always oriented towards improving the technique) are small easy passages that help the child to overcome the classic initial problems, such as reading the notes and rhythms. It was preferred not to constrain the hand to a particular position on the keyboard (for example the thumb on central C), to accustom the student more to reading the note than to reading the number. Furthermore, in some sight-reading exercises (without rhythm) the trend proceeds in contiguous notes to encourage reading by eye or more precisely in intervals.
 The exercises are marked with different colors to indicate the type: yellow for agility exercises and pink for those of a more generic technical ability, such as the expression and the legato sound; finally, the brown refers to the reading of the rhythm and the green to that of the notes.
